Biography

Sungwoo Park received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin in 2018. He received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea in 2005 and B.S. degree from the same university in 2003. From 2005 to 2014, he worked at Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. in Korea, where he designed multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output), ICIC (Inter-Cell Interference Coordination), and CRAN (Centralized Radio Access Network) in WiMAX and LTE systems. He is working at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and is interested in 5G, IoT (Internet of Things), and MTC (Machine-Type Communications). His current research topics include massive MIMO systems, millimeter wave communications, compressive sensing, and higher-order tensor decomposition techniques.
