The « TAZA GIS-DAYS » takes in two days (May 23-24, 2012) in the Faculty of Medicine & Pharmacy of Fez. The Conference is organized by the Laboratory of Natural Resources and Environment of the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Taza in collaboration with the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Fez (Morocco).

 

The conference is attended by more than 250 participants from all over the world. Researchers represent several African countries (Algeria, Cameroon, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia), America (Canada, Cuba, United States of America), Europe (Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Norway, Netherlands) and Asia (Saudi Arabia, India, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Pakistan). Nationally, all Moroccan universities participated in this event. Other institution were present such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Technology News, the Moroccan Institute for Standardization (IMANOR), the Development Agency of Provinces North, CNRST-Marwan Rabat, the Ministry of Agriculture, Urban Agencies, and the African Regional Centre for Science and Space Technology in French Language (Crast-LF).

 

The Taza-GIS-Days were driven by an objective to provide an appropriate representation of the geospatial industry and its relevance in tomorrow’s world. It was a true business development platform for the geospatial industry and will provide a wonderful environment for discussion, branding, networking, collaboration and partnership. The topics of the conference were :

-        Topic 1 : Spatial Data Infrastructure

-        Topic 2: web mapping

-        Topic 3: Remote sensing, Photogrammetry, GPS

-        Topic 4: Development and Planning

-        Topic 5: Climate and Environment

-        Topic 6: GIS & Public Health

-        Topic 7: Water Resources Management

-        Topic 8: Natural Hazards

-        Topic 9: Mapping and Geology

 

To enrich and enliven the proceedings of conferences, national and foreign researchers, known worldwide for their work on GIS and remote sensing applications in Geosciences, were invited.

 

The paper of the "GIS-TAZA DAYS" conference shall appear as a Book of abstracts of 200 pages (235 oral and poster) and a CD-ROM collections of Proceeding on 740 pages.
