***CHRISTMAS CONCERT information for parents and students:

Good tidings from RES, where we are making music with a holiday spirit!  RES students are excited to present their annual Christmas concert on Tuesday, Dec. 11th at 7:00pm.  In order to accommodate a large crowd of family and friends, the concert will be held in the gym at Remington High School.  RHS is located just north of K-196 between Whitewater and Potwin at 8850 NW Meadowlark Rd. We are going to gather students in the RHS auditorium prior to the concert, so drop off your children at the doors right across the hall from the gym.  RES staff will be there to greet them and check them in, and classroom teachers will meet them inside the auditorium to organize them and prepare to enter the gym at concert time. Please plan to arrive in time for your child to use the restroom, leave their coats with you, and be in the auditorium no later than 6:50pm.  Kids will remain in their places on the bleachers throughout the concert, except the preschool who will meet parents in the hallway after their songs are over and sit with them for the remainder of the concert.. Also, please keep in mind that school policy states your student needs to attend a full day of school at RES on Dec. 11th in order to participate in the evening program.

The kids will not be wearing specific costume items, so we’d like them to dress in their best.   Please have your student wear “Sunday clothes” (dress, skirt and blouse, or nice pants outfit for girls, slacks with button-up shirt, polo shirt, or sweater for boys).  This is a formal concert for them, so we want them to look their best, but please don’t feel you need to make an expensive purchase for a fancy new outfit. Also consider the fact that it gets warm in the gym. . . I wouldn’t recommend suits, jackets, or heavy sweaters.  We do request no sweatpants, sweatshirts, or t-shirts with pictures or lettering on the front that might be a distraction….and no HATS or tall antler headbands; nothing on their heads that blocks the view of someone standing behind them.

The preschoolers and kindergartners will kick off the concert, followed by the combined 1st/2nd grades, then the 3rd/4th graders, with a few songs including all RES students singing together.  I anticipate that the length of the concert will be under an hour. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children!  We are having a great time rehearsing and we’re looking forward to a terrific evening!

Thank you! -- Mrs. Wollenberg, RES Music
