Halloween is full of spooky, scary, fun, and exciting things to do. Family and friends’ traditions can be anywhere from pumpkin carving, to trick-or-treating, Halloween costume parties, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, as well as watching horror films.
For me and my family, hunting season always falls around Halloween, so we are always at the lodge. If we do have a Halloween tradition, it is usually a visit to a pumpkin patch, but we haven’t gone this year. In an October survey of DWHS students, 33 students shared their traditions for the holiday.
The most popular activity students do around Halloween is watching scary movies. Pumpkin carving is popular with 18 students. 14 students said they like to go to or have bonfires, 11 enjoy going to haunted houses, and 15 like to go to pumpkin patches.
Some other activities including Halloween parades, trick-or-treating, handing out candy, costume parties, and pranks were popular traditions mentioned in the survey. Ten people go to Halloween parades, 5 people go trick-or-treating, 11 people hand out candy, seven people have costume parties, and five people pull pranks. I hope everyone had a great and safe Halloween!

Hey everyone! My name is Malaina Whetstine, also known as "Moo." I am freshman at DWHS. This year I am involved in volleyball, basketball, track, FFA, Kay Club, and the student council. I am the freshman class treasurer, and I am the points directer for the board of Kay Club. This year has been a roller coaster because of the corona virus but we are fighting a pandemic that we can't control. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
