Since the appearance of the Covid-19 pandemic normal everyday things have changed, including Halloween. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment strongly advised against gatherings or events with non-household members, door to door trick-or-treating, traveling, and trunk-or-treating.
Instead of trick-or-treating the city of Highland organized a drive thru trunk-or-treat. The high school KAY Club set up at this event.
People attended local events and trick-or-treaters weren’t seen wearing masks.
“When I was in town on Halloween, I only saw one trick-or-treater wearing a mask,” said Malaina Whetstine, freshman.
