The average American spends 5.4 hours a day on their phones. What could these people be doing? "TOP 20 SOCIAL MEDIA APPS TO LOOK OUT FOR IN 2020" reports that 111 billion smartphone worldwide users with the amount going up to 1& every year and 385 billion web users globally goes up to 9.2% every year.
The top games downloaded and played are Call of Duty Mobile, Mario Kart Tour, Shadow gun, Wizards Unite, PUBG Mobile Lite, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Second Galaxy, and Breaking Bad Criminal Elements.
In the app store the most downloaded game genre is action games because action games include lots of challenges, they are a mix of combat, jumping, solving puzzles, chasing, solving interesting trails, and trying to figure out what to do next. Action games also include people to use their reflexes and some of them have a greater focus on storytelling or multiplayer options. Action games are also more popular than simulation games because action games usually don't require people to use their brain as much as the simulation games, according to "TOP 20 SOCIAL MEDIA APPS TO LOOK OUT FOR IN 2020."
The number of people using smartphones is increasing rapidly along with the number of people getting addicted to their smartphones. When the phones were invented, the main purpose of them was to make our lives easier. A high percentage said that games are more played on phones and that’s another reason people are on their phones so much. New studies have come out about why people enjoy games so much.
The attraction to playing video games and what makes them fun is that it gives people the chance to think about a role they would ideally like to take and then get a chance to play that role. People also feel better about themselves if they could act out a new identity during a game, like playing a villain or different gender. Researchers had initially thought that video games may be used as a way of escaping from themselves, according to "Psychology of Social Networks: What makes us addicted?"

Hey everyone! I'm Sarra Murphy and I am a freshman in high school. I like sports and to have fun in my free time. I am 14 years old and my birthday is March 16, 2005. Some sports I do are volleyball, basketball, and paintball. My family has our own paintball field, and it is in Maysville, Missouri.
