The Easton Foundation supports US Collegiate Archery Clubs by providing equipment grants at three different levels of support: Blue (new clubs), Red, and Gold Tiers.
APPLYING FOR YOUR FIRST GRANT?
Clubs who are applying for their first grant will need to make sure they have the university/college Federal letter of tax exemption and FEIN #. Some colleges/universities do not have a letter but can provide proof of exemption from Federal Taxes.
Before applying, using the online application, read the important information below and supply the required information so your request may be processed efficiently. Club Equipment Grants are available as Blue or Red Tier
Blue Tier: New Clubs
Bow kits: Recurve bows, arrows, finger tabs, arm guards, sights, target matts, targets, netting, small amount of cash for misc and bow stand material
Blue level support is available to those who are starting a club at their university or to existing clubs that do not have equipment for new club members to use. Clubs receiving Blue Grants must show that they either are teaching archery to college students via a recreation or physical education class or are actively promoting their club at their university and providing equipment to their club members to use.
Clubs will receive basic recurve bow kits that may be used for beginners. Clubs who need beginning compound equipment must submit an addendum to the application and a justification. Contact the Membership Team for suggested beginning compound equipment.
Blue Tier typically includes (may vary according to availability):
KAP pro-Style (or equivalent) recurve bows in Left and Right hand
Ready made aluminum arrows - with fletch and points
Proof of University non-profit status: Clubs must submit the University’s Federal letter of exemption that states the University/College is a public charity/ non-profit entity. The Equipment Grant cannot be processed without this important document. To get this letter, first check with your Sport/Rec club Department or go to the Grant office at your university. Explain that you are applying for an equipment grant and must show that the University is a non-profit organization. The Federal IRS letter of tax exemption is an actual letter with the IRS logo. It is not a W-9 form. If you cannot obtain this Federal letter of exemption, ask the Grant office if you can obtain a letter on University letterhead that states the University was granted non-profit status and have the letter signed by a University official. Make sure the letter includes the Federal Tax Identification number for your university.
ALREADY RECEIVED A GRANT? Clubs who have received previous grants and are applying for subsequent grant have additional requirements. If your club has previously received a grant, read this important information before applying again.
Guidelines for requesting Additional Equipment Grants for USCA Clubs To apply for another grant, the club must provide information on the current use of the equipment received in the previous grant. Additionally, the club must show at least 3 of the following and also meet the Tier requirements for the grant they are requesting:
Blue Tier grants
Clubs that previously received a Red or Gold Tier Grant
