Head of English Department
Welcome to my Academic Profile page. I am an Assistant Professor of Linguistics at the English Department of the College of Languages. As the head of English Department, I participate in designing, reviewing, and updating the curriculum to ensure it meets educational standards and student needs. I also supervise and support our teaching staff. It is also my responsibility to oversee student academic progress within the department, addressing their concerns, and promoting activities that enhance their learning experience.
With regard to teaching, I mostly teach introductory and advanced syntax at undergraduate and graduate levels. In terms of research, I am interested in the structure of language (syntactic theory), how languages vary and how we can model this variation (typology, comparative syntax). I am also very interested in the Iranian languages, especially the different dialects of Kurdish language.
