Welcome to Dr Nyaz Najmalddin Noori profile page. Dr Nyaz holds BSc. in Economics from the University of Salahaddin-Hawler (1998), and MSc in Economics from the University of Sulaimani (2003). He completed his PhD thesis Faces of Economic Inequality in the Iraqi Kurdistan under the supervision of Prof. Gerd Nonneman at the University of Exeter, UK in 2012. He joined the University of Sulaimani in 2004. He was a guest researcher at Lund University in Sweden during 2015-2016 and from Sep. 2017 to Nov. 2017. He was also invited by Uppsala University in 2018, staying for 8 months and conducted a research on Institutional Stagnation and Conflict between Iraq and Kurdistan Region. The manuscript has been published as a book chapter by Palgrave macmillan.

During 2016-2017, he was chairing department of Business at Komar University of Science and Technology, a private university based in Sulaimaniyah in Kurdistan Region. He is currently lecturer at School of Administration and Economics, Department of Economics.

Currently, he is working as guest researcher at Lund University, Department of Economic History, Sweden.
