This year I will give the following subjects in medical college in 2014-2015:

 

First: to third year;

 

  1. Preoperative preparation of the patient:

    To learn the goal of the preparation, how to prepare otherwise healthy patients, how to prepare patients with co morbidity, and to be familiar with Informed consent, ASA classification of anaesthesia, and lastly to learn about instructions given to the patients

  1. Day care surgery:

    To learn what is day care surgery, benefits, goals and criteria of patient selection and discharge criteria from day care surgery

  1. Bedside procedures:

           To learn how to prepare, check equipments, and do different bedside procedures   which will help the patients on different levels of ABC of surgery i.e. venus canullation,  CVP line. Tracheostomy, Chest tube, Endotracheal entubation,etc. ,  with aid of number of videos for each procedure.

4. Minimal access surgery:

        To learn the general line of these type of surgery like: laparoscopy, single umbilical triport laparoscopy, NOTES and Da Vinci in laparoscopic surgery, with a video for teaching procedure.

  1. Bites and Stings:

         Learning about epidemiology, presentation, grading, first aids and managements of human bite, animal bites, and snake bite> Scorpion sting, spider sting, wasp, bee, stings

  1. Special Infections

       Talking about some acute and chronic specific infections like tuberculosis, tetanus, gangrene, HIV and aids and Learning about epidemiology, presentation, and managements

  1. Parasitic investations :
  2. Learning about epidemiology, presentation, and managements of Parasitic investations which may present as surgical problems i.e.; ascariasis causing intestinal obstruction, Hydatid cyst presenting as a ma mass any where in the body. Hoew to treat their surgical presentations
