University of Sulaimani Becomes Member of International Universities Council

University of Sulaimani President Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali participated in an official meeting of International Universities Council (IUC) in Erbil with H.E. Minister of Higher Education Dr. Yousuf Goran, Consul General of Turkey in Kurdistan Region Mr. Mehmet Akif Inam and Presidents of several national and regional universities.

During the meeting IUC President Dr. Orhan Hikmet Azizoğlu officially recognized University of Sulaimani as a member of the IUC.

The participants discussed the roles of academics in directing the society and politicians toward peaceful coexistence, forgiveness and tolerance.

H.E. Minister of Higher Education and the Presidents of the universities expressed and discussed their views on the matters.

IUC President Dr. Orhan Hikmet Azizoğlu and Mr. Mehmet Akif Inam stressed on improving relations between the universities in the region with emphasizing on peace and coexistence.

During a ceremony at the end of the meeting, IUC President Dr. Orhan Hikmet Azizoğlu presented University of Sulaimani President Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali with the special IUC ornament.

The International University Council with more than 150 regional and international universities from 29 countries aiming to establish and strengthen cooperation between Higher Education Organizations in the region.
