My name is Dastan Khalid, I am an assistant lecturer at University of Sulaimani, School of Science Education - Department of Physics.  

Currently I am a PhD student in the field of Atomic Molecular and Optics Physics (AMO- Physics) as a split-site program between University of Sulaimani and University of Leeds.

I obtained my MSc in Medical Physics from University College London (UCL) and my BSc in Physics with Medical Applications from King's College London (KCL).

My current research as part of my PhD is in the field of precision measurement and magnetometry at university of Leeds with Experimental Quantum Information Group supervised by Prof. Ben Varcoe.

Before my PhD studies, my research interest focused on Radiation Physics part of Medical Physics field, were I have published two articles in JZS-A between 2013 and 2014.
