Antonino Favata

I am associate professor at the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering; in the past, I carried out my research and teaching activity at the Department of Civil Engineering of Roma Tor Vergata, the Institute of Continuum Mechanics and Materials Mechanics of the Hamburg University of Technology, the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento.

 Since January 2025, I have been the Chairman of the Society for Natural Philosophy, founded in 1963 by the late Clifford Truesdell, which fosters specialized research aimed at the unity of mathematical and physical science.

My research interests are in the broad field of continuum mechanics, focusing in particular on thin structures, nanomaterials and multiphysics problems.
