Research interests

My research activities cover various aspects of quantum transport phenomena in nanostructures, where electronic states can be to a large extent designed by taking advantage of band engineering, quantum confinement and interactions. This flexibility can be used to create new device concepts as well as to investigate fundamental issues in mesoscopic physics. Recently, my investigation focused on thermoelectric effects at the nanoscale and on the manipulation of single electronic states in semiconductor nanowires and graphene-based devices.
