Our research is focused on nanotechnologies applied to soft matter, polymers, organic semiconductors, fluids and biomolecules, through highly interdisciplinary programs. The elucidation of the basic structural, rheological, fluidic, and optoelectronic properties of soft and plastic materials is carried out together with the implementation of new methods for patterning molecules and enhancing their functionality. This leads to the realization of new devices with organic building blocks, and especially polymer nanofibers, such as lasers in the visible and near-infrared, field-effect transistors based on active polymers, flexible nanogenerators of energy, lab-on-chips for diagnostics, and novel scaffolds for cell cultures, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
