Research interests

My current research interests are in Physics of Fermi and Bose ultracold gases, under conditions of extreme quantum degeneracy: these can be obtained after tuning temperature, interparticle interactions (in strength, sign, and range), and dimensionality. Here are my research lines: (i) realization of novel quantum phase diagrams, applicable to design quantum devices; (ii) applications of quantum macroscopic coherence to fundamental physics, as Equivalence Principle tests and Gravitational Waves detection by atom interferometry schemes (MAGIA-Advanced). Concerning methodological issues, (iii) I’ve contributed to develop the Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory for Superfluids, and (iv) I’m active in physics education methods and in outreach
