Research interests
Over 30 years experience in the development of gas and solid-state detectors for high energy physics and astro-particle physics. I am cofounder of Pixirad Imaging Counters s.r.l., INFN spin-off company, recently acquired by PANalytical, leader in X-ray analysis systems. Since 2000, I am member of the Fermi Large Area Telescope Collaboration, a NASA space mission to study the extreme high-energy Universe, and currently of the instrument team of the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer , a mission selected by NASA for launch in 2020. I have lead the Education and Public Outreach program of INFN-Pisa, and I am responsible of the E/PO activity of the Fermi mission towards INFN and ASI.
