Research interests
I am an active member of the Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT) collaboration since 2002. As such, I have contributed to several different aspects of the LAT development and operation: the construction and calibration of the silicon tracker, the study and modeling of the instrument performance and scientific data analysis---particularly in connection with cosmic-ray studies. Since 2001 I have also participated in a successful R&D activity on gas pixel detectors for x-ray astronomical polarimetry and I am part of the instrument team for the IXPE (Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer) Small Explorer mission, recently selected by NASA for a launch in late 2020.
