Team Profile and Information

The University of Minnesota Men's Club Soccer team is a student run organization that competes at the national collegiate club level. It is the only competitive men's soccer team at the University of Minnesota. The club seeks students who are not only committed to succeed on the field, but also in their education and community.

U of M Club Soccer is a competitive and fun program that is looking for players who will contribute to the club's success at a national level. We travel to Colorado ever year for the NIRSA regional tournament in hopes of gaining a National Tournament bid. We have been a club who consistently wins and advances to Nationals. The Club Consists of two, approximately 22 man, teams. Gold (higher) and Maroon (lower)

Preseason consists of playing teams from the MIAC Conference (DIII) including St. John's, St. Thomas, Carleton, Macalester, Bethel, Augsburg, Hamline, and Gustavus. Regular season consists of playing against other club teams from around the region, along with the highly competitive boarding school Shattuck Saint-Mary's.

Head Coach: Alan Merrick

Alan Merrick is the head coach of the Men's Club team. Born in England, Alan played professionally at the highest level with West Bromwich Albion and the England U-18 National team. He then traveled to the United States, where he signed with the Minnesota Kicks of the North American Soccer League and later on, capped for the US National Team.
