Bio:

Since arriving at UMN, I've been involved in research on topics including nursing home care for older adults with serious mental illness, person-reported outcomes of home- and community-based service recipients, and the influence of hospital-SNF relationships on referral and placement decisions. Broadly, my research interests include care transitions across the continuum of post-acute care and long-term services and supports, specifically for complex older adults. This includes ways in which organizational relationships impact care transitions and resident quality of life.  I am especially interested in the intersection of long-term care policy and mental health policy.

My AHRQ-funded dissertation research examines hospital and SNF provider relationships and how these relationships impact post-acute care transitions for older adults with serious mental illness, including both SNF admission and discharge to the community.
