Spring 2020 - Coping with COVID-19
Beginning March 18 and through the end of the Spring 2020 semester, in-person instruction is suspended. Most University buildings, including Murphy Hall, are closed. Students should have received information from instructors regarding how courses are being conducted online.
No equipment is available for checkout for the foreseeable future. If you are in possession of equipment from the DMS, hang on to it for the time being. We will be adjusting plans for return of equipment as situations evolve and we are able to adjust to conditions and policies.
Staff of the DMS are working to support courses remotely. We currently expect options for working with creative software from Adobe to be in place by the week of March 23 and are working with instructors to identify other hardware and software solutions to aid in achieving course objectives for the remainder of the term.
If you have general questions or need technical support specific to courses scheduled in the DMS, you may contact us at digims@umn.edu. We will attempt to address issues or direct your concerns to an appropriate source as soon as possible, often within 2 hours during the regular business day. Some technical issues will be outside our purview, but we will try to identify sources of support if we cannot provide it directly.
Almost daily, there are adjustments and changes to both public and University policies and procedures, so check this and other University resources for updates on a regular basis.
