On Saturday, September 17 from 9am-12pm the Humphrey School Alumni Board is sponsoring a day of service with Hope Community and is calling on alumni and students to participate. Hope Community is a catalyst for change, growth and safety, building a sustainable neighborhood model through community organization, active education, leadership and affordable housing development. In addition to helping a wonderful local organization, this is also a great opportunity to strengthen your network by meeting Humphrey alumni and bond with your fellow students.
Service is being provided at the Children's Village Center/Hope Communities. Tasks will include weeding and mulching at the south quarter properties located at the corner of Franklin and Portland Avenues in Minneapolis. Volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves, water bottle, and if you have them available a garden rake or grain/scoop shovel, pitchfork, or wheelbarrow to help move mulch. Meet at 9:00 AM at 611 East Franklin Avenue. Parking is available on Portland and the surroundings streets. If you can, consider carpooling or public transportation.
Please email Maureen Wagner at firstname.lastname@example.org to register and indicate if you are interested in carpooling.
