Health Insurance Literacy Toolkit

The Affordable Care Act of 2010 gives individuals more options and more control over their health insurance. It also gives them greater access to preventive services and screenings. Health insurance literacy refers to the degree to which individuals have the knowledge, ability, and confidence to find and evaluate information about health plans, select the best plan for their circumstances, and use the plan once enrolled. Extension has a long history of helping limited resource individuals and families obtain the services they need to manage in an increasingly complex world.
