Freshman Seminars

Small classes, open minds, big conversations

From art history to Chicano-Latino studies, economics to writing studies, many of CLA's departments offer freshman seminars every year.

Freshman seminars are small, discussion-oriented classes designed specifically to enhance the first-year student experience. Limited to 20 students and developed by faculty to highlight particular academic and personal interests, freshman seminars allow first-year students to interact and connect with each other in a small setting, to establish a relationship with a faculty member, and to become involved in a unique area of study.

Faculty are encouraged to participate in this rewarding program. If you have questions or want to learn more about the program, please contact Nanette Hanks.
