The popular series of LATIS workshops is now open for 2016-2107 registration. Created by our experts, all workshops are free and open to all faculty and graduate students. Review all workshops on our LATIS Research page.

Getting Data From the Web

This workshop introduces participants to browser-based tools for web-scraping (including GetThemAll and Scraper) and Facepager, a tool for gathering information from Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites. No experience with these tools is necessary, and participants do not need to have any coding skills.

Introduction to Ggplot2 in R & Lab

This workshop introduces the logic behind ggplot2 and give users hands-on experience creating data visualizations using this package. This session will also discuss data formatting requirements for ggplot2, as well related tools creating interactive graphics from this syntax (such as plotly, https://plot.ly/feed/). While basic familiarity with R will be helpful, no prior experience with ggplot2 is required.
