Wanted: Exhibitors, Presenters, or Performers for the 2017 State Fair

posted May 2, 2017, 1:54 PM by Colleen Ware   [ updated May 3, 2017, 7:12 PM ]

Are you interested in showcasing your unit's work to the broader Minnesota community? Consider exhibiting at the U of M Building at the Minnesota State Fair.

CLA is looking for departments and centers who are interested in showing off their work to Fair-goers through demonstrations, quizzes, tips, and other engagements. There is available space for CLA units in our dedicated space in the late afternoon (3:00-9:00pm) of August 25 and August 30 and all day (9:00am - 9:00pm) on September 2, 3, and 4.

Units who participated last year include the Departments of American Indian Studies and Anthropology, the Institute for Global Studies, and the Office of Undergraduate Education. There is also an opportunity for presentations, speakers, or student group performances from the stage outside of the U of M Building between August 24 and September 4. Faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students are all welcome to participate in exhibits or stage presentations or performances, and there is no cost to your unit.

Support the U on April 24

posted Apr 18, 2017, 7:32 PM by Colleen Ware

The Minnesota Legislature will soon determine how much state funding the University of Minnesota will receive. Unfortunately, the proposed amounts are not sufficient to cover our core missions of education, research, and outreach.

We need your help to share our story broadly and loudly and hopefully gain the funding levels we need. On April 24, join in the conversation using #mnleg and #Driven4MN on Twitter, and help to highlight the U's impact around the state. Information and resources for participation are available at: z.umn.edu/driven4mn.
