  • Recording Available - June 2018 CA User Group
    As promised, those on system campuses may watch the FY18 June CA User Group recording and fill out a Video Summary form to receive 2 CE credits for FY18. Note that load times may vary, so please have patience. If you have difficulty loading the video, contact IT for assistance. 

    You must watch the recording and fill out the form by end of day, Monday, July 9 to receive credit.

  • SAVE THE DATE: CA User Group Meeting - June 26, 1pm – 3pm
    Spring FY18 Certified Approver User Group 
    Two hours of continuing education will be offered.
    June 26, 2018, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
    University Recreation & Wellness Center, Beacon Room
    Light refreshments will be served.

    Join your fellow Certified Approvers for the final User Group of FY18. The meeting agenda will include CAAC subcommittee final reports, announcement of the FY19 committee members and CAAC Chair, Beth Tapp, and Conflict Competency with Julie Showers, Associate Vice President for Equity and Diversity.

    If you are on the Twin Cities campus, you must attend in person to receive credit. Please follow this link to register for the event:  https://training.umn.edu/courses/11040 

    For those on system campuses, there will be a recording made available to you by the end of the week - you will be given 7 days to watch it and fill out a Video Summary form to receive CE credit for FY18. Unfortunately, WebEx is not an option this time around.

    who manages effort for PI's with grants from NIH and NSF.  Our experts will demonstrate tools they use to effectively manage these caps and keep us in compliance with our sponsors.

    ETHOS (Ethical Oversight Submission System) is a web-based platform for IRB submissions. It is part of a larger initiative at the University of Minnesota to adopt new and enhanced approaches to the review of human research. Please join Linnea Anderson, Chief of Staff for the Institutional Review Board, for a demonstration on ETHOS and discussion on how to best use the system in your certified approver role.

    To register, sign up via ULearn by searching "Continuing Education Committee Events".

  • the Fly America Act requirements that govern federally-funded travel, and
  • U.S. economic sanctions (with a focus on the evolving embargo against Cuba).

Fall FY18 Certified Approver User Group 
Two hours of continuing education will be offered.
December 5, 2017, 9:00am – 11:00am
University Recreation & Wellness Center, Beacon Room
Light refreshments will be served.

Join your fellow Certified Approvers for the first User Group of FY18. The meeting agenda will include CAAC subcommittee updates, Beth Tapp, and How to Deal with People Who Are Difficult for You with Kaz J. Nelson, MD (Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Vice Chair for Education and Education Director, Psychiatry - University of Minnesota).

To register for the event, log in to ULearn and search for "Certified Approver User Group". Those on the Twin Cities campus must attend in person to receive credit. While everyone has the option of attending online via WebEx, only those on collegiate campuses will receive credit for it. With that in mind, please sign up for the ULearn session that corresponds to how you will attend. The WebEx link, agenda, and handouts will be emailed closer to the event.
