SPA's Second Chance Opportunity: NCURA Virtual Meeting Sessions: Research Terms and Conditions-1 hour CE, Administrative Burden of Research Compliance- 1 hour of CE and Washington Update- 1 hour of CE. December 12, 2016 from 8:30-11:30am in room 235 Blegen Hall. Don't forget to fill out the Video Summary Form for credit after attending, and please indicate which session(s) you attended. Please note CE credit will not be granted for FY17 if you previously attended these sessions on 8/9/2016 or 10/10/2016.

Second Chance Opportunity: NCURA Virtual Meeting Session: Research Terms and Conditions-1 Hour of CE Credit
Did you miss the NCURA Virtual Meeting held on August 9th? Do not worry, section #1 on Terms and Conditions is being rebroadcast on October 10th at 10:00 in GW1, 450 McNamara. This session will provide an update to the status of the multiagency Research Terms and Conditions which are implemented in Uniform Guidance. To register for these classes sign into U Learn and follow the instructions on registration found on the SPA webpage.
Don't forget to fill out the Video Summary Form for credit after attending this course
This event will count for 1 hour towards your FY17 continuing education requirement
Please note - CE credit will not be granted for FY17 if you previously attended this event on 8/9/2016
Below are the CAAC subcommittees
that have been established for the 2017 fiscal year. If you are
interested in serving on any of the subcommittees, or would like more
information about them, please contact the chairs. The chairs have
already started planning for the year and are anxious to have their fellow CAs
help them so we hope you will consider volunteering!
Continuing Education (offers various sessions to assist CAs in meeting CE credit requirements) – Lisa Schoenle (firstname.lastname@example.org) & Megan Vimont (email@example.com) This subcommittee will plan CE events for the Twin Cities campus as well as a CE event in Duluth.
Community of Practice/Website (maintains CoP website) – Andrew Carlson (firstname.lastname@example.org) & Shaun Kershner (email@example.com) This subcommittee will work to maintain and add to the existing CoP website this year.
RCO Heat Map (assist at the department level with RCO’s Risk/Heat Map project) – Sanoa Hagen (firstname.lastname@example.org) & Matt Kerttula (email@example.com) This subcommittee may meet with various departments in person, reach out via questionnaires or phone conversations, or some combination.
CA Mentoring (maintains mentor program) – Heidi Huff (firstname.lastname@example.org) & Adam Salzwedel (email@example.com) This subcommittee will find mentors, pair mentors with new CAs, and fine-tune this program that was conceived in FY15 and fully enacted in FY16.
The OVPR has registered for three NCURA virtual sessions that will be broadcast live on 8/9/16. Once you have logged into ULearn you can register for one or all of the sessions by searching for "Continuing Education Committee Events," and then register for the session(s) you would like to attend. There is a space limit of 30 for each session but don't worry, we will be showing these same sessions in another event in the future. So if you miss it this time you can still view them later.

This session will outline the challenges with growth of
regulatory burdens associated with sponsored programs.

WASHINGTON UPDATE- 1 Hour of CE Credit
This session will provide an update and analysis of the latest
developments in Washington that affect research and sponsored
programs at colleges and universities.
