Hello and Welcome!
We are both excited and proud to have this opportunity to introduce our new website and tell you more about the University of Minnesota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. This year marks the 107th year of our organization promoting the growth and development of the most refined and ambitious business leaders. Whether you are a brother from another chapter, an employer looking to learn more about our members, or a student interested in becoming more involved on campus, this website will provide you with everything you need to know about what we stand for and how you can get more involved with our chapter. In a business environment that is becoming increasingly dynamic and competitive, it is critical that organizations possess the necessary tools in order to be resilient and adaptable. Alpha Kappa Psi has those tools. Of the many aspects to our chapter, we believe a unique combination of five of them truly set us apart from other organizations here at the University of Minnesota.
Just as the key to any successful company is the knowledge and commitment of its employees, the key to our chapter’s success continues to be the ambition and leadership capabilities of our members. Coming from many different backgrounds and areas of study, members of Alpha Kappa Psi not only practice leadership within the walls of our chapter house, but also consistently hold leadership positions in other student groups at the University of Minnesota, within the community, and as employees of companies here in Minneapolis. Check out Chapter Statistics in the Membership section to lea
rn more about our involvement, accomplishments, and unique experiences.
Alumni of our chapter have jobs in all industries here in Minneapolis and across the country. They are actively involved in and committed to the activities of our chapter and the development of our members, serving as as invaluable resources for career exploration, interviewing skills, resume revision, job searching, and anything else we seek their advice for. Ways that alumni can get further involved in our chapter, as well as a list of companies that our alumni work for can be found in Alumni section of this website.
Located just blocks away from the heart of Dinkytown, our chapter house serves as the headquarters for us to conduct our business as well as the home for many of our members. Equipped with a large meeting room, computer lab, small-group work spaces, living room with a TV, kitchen, and five newly remodeled bathrooms, the house ensures that there are no limits to what we can accomplish as a chapter. As members of Alpha Kappa Psi, we use the house every day as a meeting space to collaborate on group projects, to individually work on homework, or to relax watch a football game with each other after grilling out on the deck. We also frequently host professional speakers, networking events, and development workshops.
The University of Minnesota chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi is one of only six chapters in the nation to have a house, something we are constantly appreciative of and utilize to the fullest.
Our Four Pillars
It is the goal of our organization to expand the abilities of our members and pledges in four areas of concentration – professional development, community service, academic success, and social engagement. Through an unwavering commitment to these four areas, Alpha Kappa Psi promotes a well-rounded lifestyle that proves to be extremely rewarding for those who practice it. Please visit the section titled “The Four Pillars” to learn more about the initiatives specific to each concentration.
Sit in a room full of AKPsi brothers and you will notice something – there is an electric, indescribable connection between us. You will notice engaging conversations, inside jokes, unrivaled rapport, and lots of laughter. What you are witnessing is our brotherhood, and it is what differentiates us from other organizations the most. It is this feeling of unconditional commitment to one another that develops through the mutual interest in pursuing challenging situations, focusing on constant self-improvement, and making a substantial impact on the communities in which we live. We encourage you to come and witness it for yourself!
