ACCP University of Minnesota Chapter

Clinical pharmacy is a unique field where pharmacists have the ability to specialize clinically in many different disciplines including:

  • Hematology/oncology
  • Pediatrics
  • Psychiatry
  • Cardiology
  • Critical care
  • Emergency medicine

This allows pharmacists to play a critical role in the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes. It also allows pharmacists with an interest in clinical research the ability to work with other professionals to collaborate on papers and research projects in their chosen fields.

The American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) is an international association of clinical pharmacists in various healthcare settings dedicated to optimizing drug outcomes in patients through practice, research, and education. The U of MN student ACCP chapter, called the Minnesota Student College of Clinical Pharmacy (MSCCP), hosts many events throughout the year to increase awareness of clinical pharmacy, including residency panels and speakers. Additionally, case discussions with clinical pharmacists and journal clubs are held to further advance student clinical skills as a supplement to school.
