Student Academic Success Services (SASS)

Students meet with an academic counselor to help develop studying and test taking skills.
SASS offers self-help online materials covering a wide variety of academic skills, including active participation.

UC 1005

UC 1005: Global Perspectives on Higher Education (2 cr)
In a 2 credit course, students examine and process the values, contexts, and goals of the American higher education as it compares to their previous experiences.  This course can help international students learn about the U.S. classroom and become more comfortable participating.

International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS)

Cross-Cultural Discussion Groups
Practice speaking up in a group and participating in discussion in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere through a Cross Cultural Discussion Group.  The discussion groups include international and American students who meet weekly throughout the semester.

Minnesota English Language Program (MELP)

Make an appointment for free, one-to-one ESL support for international undergraduate students.  ESL consultants can help with issues such as speaking skills, understanding class lectures and discussions, and pronunciation.
