Coordinators



Yunus E. Zeytuncu, associate professor of mathematics, University of Michigan-Dearborn. Yunus has been involved with mathematics outreach since his graduate school years at the Ohio State University. Currently, he coordinates the Maize and Blue Math Circle and he contributes to other math circles in the region. As a research mathematician, he works in several complex variables and operator theory.




Alan Wiggins
, associate professor of mathematics, University of Michigan-Dearbon. Alan had no experience with math circles before he got sucked into the Maize and Blue Math Circle by Yunus, but he has enjoyed every moment of it. He helps out with coordination and lesson plans whenever he can. His main research area is von Neumann algebras, though he has also done work in operator theory.

Amanda Cowell 
is an undergraduate mathematics major at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and has already completed an Associate of Fine Arts degree. As the assistant for the Maize and Blue Math Circle, she helps out during the sessions as well as maintaining the website, marketing, designing, and filling in wherever else help is needed.
