In 2013, Matias Cattaneo and I founded the Interdisciplinary Seminar in Quantitative Methods (ISQM) at the University of Michigan. The seminar meets every other Wednesday, 4.00pm-5.30pm. A list of past and upcoming speakers can be found at the ISQM website.
The goal of the ISQM series is to provide an interdisciplinary environment where researchers can present and discuss cutting-edge research in quantitative methodology. The talks are aimed at a broad audience, with more emphasis on conceptual rather than technical issues. The research presented is varied, ranging from new methodological developments to applied empirical papers that use methodology in an innovative way. We welcome speakers and audiences from all fields in the social, natural, medical and behavioral sciences.
We are grateful for the financial support provided by the Department of Political Science, the Department of Economics, the Center for Political Studies, and the National Science Foundation (SES 1357561).
