Welcome

Welcome to the website for Andrew Tai's lab at the University of Michigan!

Our research focuses on the interaction between positive-strand RNA viruses and their hosts. Specifically, we are interested in understanding the host factors and pathways that viruses hijack in the infected cell to complete their infection cycle. This has led to fundamental insights into the mechanisms that support assembly of viral replication organelles in infected cells. In addition, understanding these 'host dependency factors' may lead to novel strategies to disrupt viral infection.
