Welcome to the homepage of Shun Zhang (in Simplified Chinese: 张舜).

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Artificial Intelligence Lab at the University of Michigan. I'm working on value alignment and AI safety in reinforcement learning with Prof. Satinder Singh and Prof. Ed Durfee. Before coming to Ann Arbor, I finished the Integrated BS/MS Program in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. I did undergraduate/master research on multiagent systems and reinforcement learning with Prof. Peter Stone and Prof. Dana Ballard.

I successfully defended my PhD thesis in April 2020 (slides, dissertation).
