The Rainbow Book Club is a book club dedicated to reading and discussing classic and contemporary works related to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community.  We try to read a broad range of styles including nonfiction, literary fiction, genre fiction, life writing, and graphic novels.  Meeting since before 1998, we have read books ranging from the acclaimed Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin to the popular Dykes To Watch Out For by Alison Bechdel.  Local book store Common Language makes our book selections available with a 10% discount; you can reserve a copy in advance.

We generally meet on the second Sunday each month from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Jim Toy Community Center.  Feel free to join us.  After meetings, many of us have dinner together at a nearby restaurant.

This is an inclusive group!  We welcome people of all ages, genders, gender identities, and sexual orientations.  All you need is an interest in LGBTQ books and authors; new members are always welcome!  If you would like to be added to the group email list, please contact a2rainbowbookclub@gmail.com.
Happy reading!
