Trainees

Doctoral students are appointed to the PSTP in their second year, and spend two years as Junior Trainees. During the junior phase, trainees receive special training in ethical considerations in the pharmacological sciences and industry disclosures (PHRMACOL 604), and plan an annual symposium for the Medical School and College of Pharmacy. As Dr. Isom always says, "once a PSTP trainee, always a PSTP trainee." In their fourth year, students are considered Senior Trainees, and serve as mentors to the juniors.

Time to Degree

Individual time to degrees vary based on the student and the research project. On average, students complete the program in around six years.
