The NINDS Clinical Trials Methodology Course
(CTMC)
is an intensive, engaging program designed to help junior investigators develop scientifically rigorous, yet practical clinical trial protocols, and to focus on early consideration of funding mechanisms as a key trial planning activity.

COURSE FORMAT:

The CTMC is organized by the University of Michigan, in collaboration with the University of Iowa and UCLA. The course consists of distance and on-site learning opportunities. The CTMC 2016 will begin with a series of open–access webinars in early Spring 2016. An in-person residential phase will be held August 7 - 11, 2016 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The CTMC will provide funding for travel and lodging to successful applicants. Additional remote course activities will occur in Fall 2016.
Please check the CTMC FAQs page for additional information.

APPLICATION FORMS:

NEW: Download the application form (includes instructions and details) here!

We may have a limited number of additional spots. We will accept additional applications (that are competitive based on the instructions in the application) on a space available basis in the order they are received. We likely will not be able to accommodate anyone after April 15. We will update this site when we are full.

Qualified applicants include early faculty and investigators new to designing their own clinical trial. We are interested in trainees from clinical disciplines focused on neurological disease or injury as well as biostatisticians working on projects with clinical neuroscience researchers. Each application must include a biosketch with a personal statement, a letter of support from the department chair, and a one-page proposed project abstract that lists at least three potential funding sources. The project abstract should address the area of study where you will develop a clinical research trial proposal. This should include areas of uncertainty in the field and potential scientifinc questions. Please check the CTMCFAQs page if you have any questions about the application process.
