Pre-migration Activities

U-M and Google are working together to bring a wide array of Web-based tools to the university community. The NextGen Michigan Collaboration Project includes Google email, calendar, Docs, Sites and other tools. The purpose of these pre-migration activities is to help you prepare for moving your email and calendar data to the M+Google platform.

  • Staff & Faculty: Please complete the steps below at least three weeks BEFORE your go-live date.
  • Students & Others: Please complete the steps below BEFORE you self-migrate.

  1. Complete the pre-migration checklist. Staff and faculty use this checklist. Students and others use this checklist. Additional post-migration clean-up may be needed if these checklists aren’t completed.
  2. After completing the steps on the appropriate checklist, use the migration assistant to finish the process. Staff and faculty instructions are here. Instructions for students and other self-migraters are here.
