Dr. Li is an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems in the Department of MIS at the University of Illinois Springfield. Before joining UIS, he was an Associate Professor of Business and the Business Program Coordinator at the Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. He received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the Moore School of Business at University of South Carolina. He also earned B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Management, and M.S. in Business Administration, from the Northeastern University in Shenyang, China.
Dr. Li is currently teaching two graduate-level courses: MIS 513 (Management Information Systems) and MIS 523 (Managerial Decision Support Systems). Prior to this, he taught a number of MIS and business courses at Columbia College and University of South Carolina, such as Computer Applications in Business, E-Business, Introduction to Business Analytics, Data Visualization, Principles of Management, and Strategic Management. He teaches both face-to-face and online courses on these subjects.
Dr. Li conducts research on online information privacy and security; Knowledge Management, computer-aided decision-making, and Business Analytics; and end-user computing. His research was published, or is forthcoming, in journals such as Information Systems Research, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, and Journal of Organizational and End User Computing. His research was also presented at a number of IS and Decision Sciences conferences. He is the North America Regional Editor of the International Journal of Intercultural Information Management, and an ad hoc reviewer for a number of IS and Decision Sciences journals and conferences.
Dr. Li was a Board member at the North Columbia Business Association from 2011 to 2016. He also served briefly on the advisory board of the South Carolina Community Bank before moving to Springfield. Both organizations are located in Columbia, South Carolina.
Dr. Li is married to Lilly Dai. They have two children, Cindy and Jerry. The whole family speaks English and Chinese.
