Course Objectives

Students will begin the course with the French and Indian War; followed by how our country will deal with balancing liberty while maintaining order, 1776 – 1830; continues with an understanding of how our nation emerges during the time period of 1800 – 1860; with our country handling the divisions that will occur and, an uneasy reunion, 1848 – 1877.  We will conclude with the country expanding further westward, advancing industry, and our role in World War I.

This class will be presented at a College Prep Level; accomplished through various means of individual and group projects, written assignments ( DBQs / Free Writes / Current Events), classroom discussions, oral presentations, and various other activities that will assist the student in understanding their study of US History I.  It is important that the students learn the material through a variety of methods.


It is mandatory to have a Binder. 

 Please look at the binder setup file to see how I want you to keep your binder.


Chromebooks should be charged and ready to use for class!!

Bring in headphones as well!!
