Short bio
Martín Antonio Rossi is Professor of Economics at Universidad de San Andrés. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the intersection of development economics, political economy, and public economics, and has been published in leading academic journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies, American Economic Review: Insights, Economic Journal, Review of Economics and Statistics, and American Economic Journal: Applied Economics. In 2026, he received the Konex Award in Microeconomics.
Between 2024 and 2025, he served in the Government of Argentina as Secretary of Deregulation and Secretary for State Modernization, where he led a comprehensive agenda of regulatory reform. He is a research affiliate at J-PAL and has advised organizations including UNICEF, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank.
