The Office of Research at the College of Health Sciences works hard to support our faculty research efforts. Our CHS Sponsored Programs Coordinators and/or Biostatistician will assist you with:

  • Assisting with developing and finalizing a budget
  • Statistical analysis and assistance with experimental design
  • Reviewing and submitting grants to the central Research Office
  • Minor editorial assistance

Policy – please familiarize yourself with the CHS Office of Research Policies form.

Timelines – we have developed two separate policy-based timelines, one for NIH and one for non-NIH related proposals in order to help faculty prepare for grant submission.

FORMS – CHS Pipeline and UD Faculty Collaboration. The CHS Pipeline form will instantly add your proposal to Pipeline (hastening processing); and the UD Faculty Collaboration form needs to be filled out if you plan to work with another UD researcher who will act as the Lead PI.

Searching for Foundations – if you would like to search for funding agencies on your own, please use the resources provided at the University of Delaware including Community of Scientists (COS) and

Resources – Core Facilities; Inclusion of Undergraduates in research (for R15 and NSF applications); and language supporting the ethical use of animals in research. If you need more information on UD resources, please contact the CHS Office of Research.

Inventions – If you have an invention that you believe is worthy of protecting, please feel free to check out the Invention Disclosure Form and submit it to the Office of Technology Transfer. The OTT will also help you develop a trademark/servicemark, copyright, or a startup company.
