Welcome to the website for the Uckfield College Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. The Scheme has been running at college for upwards of 30 years,  currently coordinated by Allan Strong with the support of a team of experienced and qualified volunteers . The college caters for 1800 students, aged 11 to 18, and this means a wide range of participants, from bronze to gold.

This site is aimed at keeping all those involved, well informed of news and important information concerning expeditions and awards.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (also known as the 'DoE' or 'DofE') is an award programme for ages 14-24 which promotes physical activities and helping the community, providing character building and while developing friendship. Founded by HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh after visiting a school in the Scottish highlands which ran a series of exercises not particularly dissimilar to the awards that are known today. Founded in 1956, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award has been running now for 60 years, and there are around 275,000 young people participating in the award at any one time in the United Kingdom.
