Whether your goal is to attend a four-year college, a two-year college, or you are planning to earn an job skill certificate for quicker entry into the workforce, the Dual Enrollment Program is a great place to start. The classes are FREE and allow you to earn high school and college credit for every dual enrolled class you complete. To participate in the Dual Enrollment Program at UCHS, students must be in 10th for technical college academic and elective courses and 11th - 12th grade for colleges and universities and have the following academic and attendance record:
Dual enrollment provides the opportunity for high school students to enroll part-time or full-time in college courses. The credits earned count toward both your high school grade point average and begins your first college grade point average. Participation is permitted during fall, spring and summer semesters of the college school year. Students may enroll in up to 15 college credit hours per semester which equates to 4 or 5 classes. Union County High School (UCHS) primarily partners with North Georgia Technical College, University of North Georgia, and Young Harris College to offer courses on the Union County High School Campus, at the college campuses, and online. While our three local colleges provide numerous college options for UCHS students, many students do attend other technical colleges or universities in the Metro-Atlanta and North Georgia area to meet their career goals and course requirements.
