Language, Identity, and Perception

Language, Identity, and Perception (LIP) is a phonetics reading group that focuses on issues surrounding speech perception and talker identity in various populations, languages, and varieties. We gather semi-weekly to discuss experimental papers or to hear from students and faculty about their ongoing research. LIP Reading Group is an interdepartmental group, including faculty and students from the Linguistics Department and Languages and Applied Linguistics Department at UC Santa Cruz.
