During the 2015-2016 school year, kindergarten through fifth grade researched farming. Each grade used the Big 3 Research model where students work through the phases of "plan, do and review" to learn about a topic. Throughout the year; Kindergarten researched pigs, first grade researched corn, second grade researched wheat, third grade researched farm equipment, fourth grade researched soybeans and fifth grade researched farmers. Students used books, online databases, and videos of farmer Campbell Cox of Cox Brothers Farms to complete their research. Through the resources used, students learned how their topic impacts their local community as well as the global community.
