Ria Bhattacharya

My name is Ria Bhattacharya. I have received my Ph.D. in Economics from University of Connecticut, in August 2019. I have served as a Visiting faculty at Elon University. Currently I am working as a Consultant Researcher at Global Change Research in India.

I am an Applied Economist. My research  focuses on analyzing the impact of COVID-19 on vital sectors like healthcare and education sector, immigrants' socio-economic decisions like investment in human capital, fertility decisions, and gender related issues like marital decisions and domestic violence.

My fields of specialization are in Labor and Demography, Immigration, Economics of Education, Gender,  with secondary research interests in International Economics.

Besides my research, I have received an extensive teaching experience both in India and in the United States.

I am available for job interviews before, during, and after the AEA/ASSA meeting on January 2024.
