Since middle school, I have always been interested in engineering; I am now a student at the University of Connecticut studying electrical engineering. As an engineering major, I have decided to discuss how the United States changed from being dependent on horses to steam railway technology for transportation. The ability to transport people, items and stock is crucial to the success to a developing country. Interestingly, there were railway systems that had vehicles that used horses as their method of accelerating. The introduction of railway systems to be able to transport items, goods, and people from place to place, aided America throughout its development.
