The Office of Technology provides a wireless signal for use by students, faculty, and staff.  To connect:
  • When your device's WiFi feature is turned on, look for and select UCMO-WiFi in your set-up menu.
  • Accept the security certificate from login.ucmo.edu if prompted.
  • Enter your Network ID and password when prompted for user credentials.

If your device does not automatically configure itself, use the information below to manually configure it according to your manufacturer's WiFi set-up instructions:

Security Type = WPA2 Enterprise*
Encryption = AES*
Authentication = PEAP/EAP-MS-CHAP v2
CA Certificate = Verisign/Symantec Certificate**

*Security Type WPA2 Enterprise with AES is the only configuration.  Updating the device software (also called firmware) on older devices may allow WPA2 connectivity.  Consult your device manufacturer's user manual for instructions on how to update your device software.

**You will probably see many VeriSign/Symantec Certificates listed on your device.  Try selecting each one-at-a-time until you find the certificate that works.  Unfortunately, the correct name for the VeriSign/Symantec certificate is different among device models and manufacturers.

VeriSign/Symantec certificates are automatically installed on devices from the manufacturer.  UCM recommends updating the software on your device before connecting it to the UCM WiFi network.  That way, you are certain to have the most current VeriSign/Symantec certificate installed on your device.  Consult your device manufacturer's user manual for instructions on how to update your software.

A NOTE about Antenna:  Some mobile devices have a weaker WiFi antenna than others, therefore your device might not be able to connect to a distant WiFi signal.  If you cannot see an indicator of WiFi signal strength on your device, try changing your physical location/position.
