Mapping a UCM Network Drive

To Map a Drive on a PC:

  • Open "My Computer".
  • Click "Map Network Drive" or choose it from the menu under "Tools".
  • Specify a letter for your drive (any letter that is not already in use).
  • In the box labeled "Folder" type the following:

\\ucmo.local\home\facstaff\UserID
 
or
\\ucmo.local\home\student\UserID
or
\\ucmo.local\data\SharedDriveName

Note:  UserID will be your Network ID, while SharedDriveName
will be the name of the department drive to which you are connecting.
  • You may choose the check the box for "reconnect at logon".  
  • Depending on your machine's configuration, you may need to check the box to "connect using different credentials".  
  • When challenged for a user name/ID and password, depending on your machine's configuration, you may need to specify the domain in front of your UserID.  In this case, enter this for your user name/ID:  UCMO\UserID.  (Note:  You will not need the UCMO\in front of your password.)

To Mount a Drive on a Mac:

  • Click "Go".
  • Select "Connect to a Server..."
  • Type the appropriate drive location.  It should look like this:  
 
smb://ucmohome.ucmo.local/facstaff/UserID
or
smb://ucmohome.ucmo.local/student/UserID
or
smb://ucmodata.ucmo.local/department/SharedDriveName 

Note:  UserID will be your Network ID, while SharedDriveName 
will be the name of the department drive to which you are connecting.
  • Click the Plus sign (+) to add to the list of Favorite Servers.
  • Click Connect.
  • When asked for a name and password, select "registered user" and supply your network ID and password.
  • On that window, check "remember this password in my keychain".
  • Click Connect.
